Unbelievable Teak Dining Table by Sorø Stolefabrik, Round to 9 Feet! - SOLD

April 1, 2017

Designed in the 1060s, this beautiful round-to-oval table was made in Denmark by Sorø Stolefabrik. The leg detail is wonderful. It's an extremely well-made piece and features three fully-skirted leaves to create a massive table for parties.  It features an ingenious automatic kick-stand system to support the center when 2 or 3 leaves are employed. Fully extended seats up to 12 people!

(Chairs not included.)

This table is in very good vintage condition. The tabletop has a few light scratches. The leaves have some light abrasions from being stored on their ends and a few tiny chips. Two of the leaves were never used (one was in it's original packaging) and are slightly darker. Exposure to sunlight will even them out. (More about that here.)

47" diameter x 28.375" high.
With one leaf: 47" x 66.75"
With two leaves: 86.25"
With three leaves: 106.25" - almost 9 feet long!

Faarup Møbelfabrik Round-to-Oval Teak Dining Table - SOLD

March 21, 2017

Among Danish teak round-to-oval dining tables, this gorgeous piece stands out. Designed by Jørgen Linde and made in Denmark in the 1960s by Faarup Møbelfabrik. It has a beautifully detailed substantial sold teak edge with a unique, sculptural table-to-leg joint. The teak has a gorgeous rich patina and grain; unlike most vintage tables, the color of the leaves matches the table! The table is round with no leaves, and oval with leaves. There is an original drop-down leg to be used for extra stability, if desired, when both leaves are installed. This table is very beautiful, practical, and of very high quality.

This particular example is in excellent vintage condition with only minor, age-appropriate signs of use such as light scratches and minor dings. There is a small crack in the veneer at the very center of the table and the outer edges of the leaves have some dings from being stored on their ends. There is a tiny chip at the top of one leg. One leaf has a lighter worn spot near the edge. Please see detail photos. All in all this table present extremely well. It's a beauty!

(Chairs not included)

47" diameter x 28.5" high
With one leaf: 47" x 66.75"
With both leaves: 47" x 86.5" (seats 8 comfortable, 10 possible)

Brazilian Rosewood Table with 2 Leaves by Kai Kristiansen - SOLD

March 4, 2017

Fresh from Denmark: this beautiful Brazilian rosewood dining table by well-known Danish designer Kai Kristiansen for Skovmand & Andersen. Kristiansen's designs are sought after for their elegance and attention to detail, and this table is no exception. This table comes with two leaves, one fully skirted. t seats four when closed, 6 with one leaf, and 8 with both leaves in.

It is in excellent vintage condition. The tabletop has only a few light scratches and a slightly lighter area (which could just be the natural coloration of the wood.) As is typical with vintage tables, the leaves -which rarely saw sunlight- are slightly darker. This would even out with light exposure over time. The non-skirted leaf has a few scratches as shown in the last photo.

(The Rosengren Hansen chairs pictured are not included but are available separately. Please contact us for a package price if interested.)

Petite, Very Fine Danish Teak Dining Table with 2 Leaves - SOLD

December 18, 2016

This is a very finely crafted Danish teak dining table. It is smaller than most -perfect for small spaces- but includes two leaves to enlarge it for a party. High-quality construction: notice the joinery detail for the corner braces and impressed model number. Wonderful details: rounded, beveled edges, elegantly curved apron, a beautiful patina on the teak. Both of the leaves are fully skirted, so when installed there is no break in the design, unlike many tables with leaves.

We believe this table was executed by Søborg Møbelfabrik (construction details are identical to tables by Peter Hvidt and Børge Mogensen that we have sold in the past) but it is unmarked. It is in very good vintage condition, with age appropriate wear including minor scratches and bruises. The edges of the table where they join together have small chips. One leaf has a larger area of edge chipping and one has a chipped corner. One leg has a chip at the very top, not visible in normal use. See photos.

Without leaves (seats 4):
47.5" long x 35.375" deep x 28.75" high

With one leaf (seats 6):
63.25" long

With both leaves (seats 8 if chairs are not too wide):
78.75" long
