Among Danish teak round-to-oval dining tables, this gorgeous piece stands out. Designed by Jørgen Linde and made in Denmark in the 1960s by Faarup Møbelfabrik. It has a beautifully detailed substantial sold teak edge with a unique, sculptural table-to-leg joint. The teak has a gorgeous rich patina and grain; unlike most vintage tables, the color of the leaves matches the table! The table is round with no leaves, and oval with leaves. There is an original drop-down leg to be used for extra stability, if desired, when both leaves are installed. This table is very beautiful, practical, and of very high quality.
This particular example is in excellent vintage condition with only minor, age-appropriate signs of use such as light scratches and minor dings. There is a small crack in the veneer at the very center of the table and the outer edges of the leaves have some dings from being stored on their ends. There is a tiny chip at the top of one leg. One leaf has a lighter worn spot near the edge. Please see detail photos. All in all this table present extremely well. It's a beauty!
