Paul Evans Style Brutalist Walnut Credenza - SOLD

May 6, 2017

Long, low and so unique! In the Brutalist style of designer Paul Evans, this walnut credenza was made in Canada by Tabago Furniture Ltd in the 1970s. It features unique sculpted door/drawer pulls reminiscent of Broyhill's Brasilia collection. This piece is a great size - a bit shallower and lower-slung than usual - making it the perfect platform for a flat-screen TV.

The center bank of three drawers is flanked by cabinets with one adjustable shelf each. Excellent vintage condition with age-appropriate signs of use. One chip on the corner of one of the doors, and the top has a slightly faded area where a bookcase sat in its previous home. The wood veneer is sensitive to light, so this should even out over time.

72.675" wide x 15.75" deep x 24.875" high.

Small-Scale Mid-Century Credenza by Mainline for Hooker - SOLD

April 14, 2017

This piece is so lovely in person. Beautifully figured, rich walnut contrasts with natural cane in this mid-century buffet. Three drawers across the top (one divided for silverware) and two deep drawers in the center, flanked by cabinets with shelves behind the sliding caned doors. This is a very solidly built piece!

In exceptional condition for a sideboard of this era! There is one scratch on top and a few light scratches and tiny chips elsewhere.

Floating Wall-Mount Brazilian Rosewood Mid-Century Credenza - SOLD

April 14, 2017

Wow, this is such a cool and unusual piece! Influenced by Arne Vodder's iconic sideboards, we believe this was made in America in the 1960s. The rosewood grain is sumptuous and the top features an elegant raised lip along the back edge. The door system is very clever: the doors are all flush with one another, but when pushed in, the patented track system allows one to slide behind the other.

This piece is in excellent vintage condition with age-appropriate signs of use. The top has a few very minor scratches, hardly noticeable. The door handles have some paint chips (could easily be touched up); the inner corners of the sliding doors have a few chips. There are some tiny paint splatter dots on the right side.

Stunning Brazilian rosewood and hidden tambour doors distinguish this long sideboard by Bernhard Pedersen & Son. Tons of storage is provided with a central bank of 3 pull-out drawers and adjustable shelving on the sides. The tambour doors disappear elegantly inside the cabinet when open.

In very good vintage condition. Some light scratches on the door fronts. The top has a couple of darker areas, light rings and light scratches. Please see photos. Outstanding Sculptural No. 14 Teak Sideboard with Bar by Johannes Andersen - SOLD

March 11, 2017

Rarely seen in the United States, tall sideboards or "highboards" were an integral part of Danish interiors in the 1960s. In typical Scandinavian fashion, a whole lot of usefulness and style is packed into one piece of furniture. This piece, No. 14 by highly collectible designer Johannes Andersen for Uldum Møbelfabrik, was just brought over from Denmark this winter. Drop-dead gorgeous details include the sculpted solid teak base, amazing hand-carved handles with "fins" that turn the corner on the drawers, and overall very fine construction and attention to detail. It has absolutely beautiful book-matched glowing teak with perfect patina.

On the top, the outer sliding doors open to reveal adjustable shelving. The center left section houses a fabulous mirrored bar area, complete with a slide-out shelf for mixing drinks. The center right features 2 felt-lined shallow drawers with exposed finger-jointed corners, and an adjustable shelf. Below are six drawers. The outer four shallow drawers are felt-lined.

This piece is in excellent vintage condition with only a few minor scratches and slight flaws: The outer "fin" on the right bottom drawer has a chip. There is a small chip on a drawer corner as shown. There is some white paint on the BACKS of the back legs. Right front leg has a small chip. Some of the felt-lined drawers have various wax and tape residues and rings from glassware storage.

Danish Modern Teak Credenza - SOLD

March 4, 2017

Fresh from Denmark! This 1960s teak sideboard has wonderful details! I love it's leggy look and curved, laminated pulls. Lots of storage with two felt-lined silverware drawers, three large mahogany-lined dovetailed drawers, and two locking side cabinets with adjustable shelves.

This piece is in very good vintage condition. The top has a few scratches; there are a couple of dents on the cabinet doors and an old repair in the upright piece to the right of the drawers; some tiny veneer chips on the drawer corners. There is some light staining to the felt-lined drawers. We have retained the patina on the brass handles, but they could certainly be polished bright if desired.

Hans J. Wegner 'President' Teak Credenza for RY Møbler - SOLD

February 18, 2017

(RESERVED)

This is one of the finest pieces of furniture we've ever owned. Designed by the renowned Danish designer Hans J. Wenger for RY Møbler in the 1950s, this substantial piece is at once breathtaking and subtle. Every detail was carefully considered and crafted with utmost skill. This is the RY No. 25 sideboard, referred to as the 'President'.

The design is deceptively simple and clean; the only embellishments are the shiny chrome backing plates for the solid teak pulls. But as you explore the piece, the details come into focus: notice how the horizontal grain on the sides of the case wrap around to the front. The elegant tambour doors slide away into hidden compartments to reveal a contrasting European oak interior with adjustable drawers and shelves. The tapered legs are just the right height and thickness. It is SUCH a handsome piece!

This piece is in very good vintage condition with a beautiful patina. To note: on the right edge there are a few small dings. The back edges of the case sides have small veneer chips. The bottom right corner has a small ding. The top has light scratches and a very small chip on the back edge. Please see the detail photos provided.

Walnut and Brass Credenza by Stanley - SOLD

February 18, 2017

This piece has so many cool details! I love the brass T-shaped pulls, the carved door pulls, the unique interior, and the finger-jointed detail on the legs! In gorgeously figured walnut with contrasting oak in the Danish modern style.

The drawers all slide well. Tope drawer has a felt-lined, divided area for silverware.

This sideboard is in generally good vintage condition. There are some chips on the back edges of the sides and along bottom; the case has a few areas of delamination along top and bottom edges (does not affect stability or use and is barely noticeable, see photos...); there are some areas of discoloration on the top.

Jens Quistgaard for Peter Lovig Tambour Door Sideboard or Room Divider

January 23, 2017

What a stunner! This handsome teak tambour-door credenza with removable glass-fronted top unit was made by Lovig in Denmark and designed by the renowned Jens Quistgaard - most famous for his iconic designs for Dansk (Kobenstyle cookware, teak ice buckets and pepper mills, and much more.) This piece is highly collectible -check out the prices at other dealers online. Here is a chance to own an iconic piece of Danish design for well below normal cost, due to some damage as noted below.

The substantial credenza base unit features hide-away tambour doors with handsome teak and aluminum pulls, elegantly tapered legs, beautiful figuring and the perfect warm amber patina of decades-old teak. Behind the doors is a bank of adjustable-height drawers, the top two of which are felt-lined for silverware.

The glass-fronted hutch can be used as shown, or separately on the floor as a low book/display case. Both pieces are fully finished on the backs, allowing them to be floated in a room as a room divider.

Despite the issues cataloged below, this piece is beautiful in person. If I had a place for it in my home I would surely be keeping it!

Condition: overall very good with light scratches and wear, plus: the leading edges of the tambour doors are damaged such that the first couple of inches do not stay in their tracks. This does not affect use and is not readily noticeable on casual inspection. Bottom left corner of case is damaged as shown. Light rings on the top of hutch. The very backs of the back legs have heat marks from being up against a radiator. We have priced this piece at half the value it would otherwise have.

Stunning Danish Teak Highboard - SOLD

January 23, 2017

Rarely seen in the United States, highboards were an integral part of Danish interiors in the 1950s and '60s. In typical Scandinavian fashion, a whole lot of usefulness and style is packed into one piece of furniture. This piece was just brought over from Denmark this past summer. It has gorgeous patina, elegantly raised end panels and great recessed pulls. A central bank features 3 dovetailed drawers above and a sliding door below with one adjustable shelf. To the left, the sliding door reveals a fantastic mirrored bar area and shelving; to the right are hidden 2 drawers and 2 shelves.

This piece is in excellent vintage condition with the following blemishes to note: left slider door has a chip on inner edge; sliding doors have dings on back edge from drawer handles; light scratches to doors; middle drawer has small dent and tiny, old veneer chip; the right side very back corner has a repaired chip; the green felt in the interior silverware drawers shows wear; top has a few light rings as shown. These are not at all offensive; for the top of a 60-year-old credenza it is in great shape. All in all, this piece represents very well and makes an impressive and graceful statement in any room!

1960s Danish Teak Credenza - SOLD

October 14, 2016

Beautiful glowing teak sideboard with tons of storage! This credenza features a beveled case, lovely asymmetrical hand-carved door pulls on the outer doors and two interior felt-lined drawers.

Outer doors each slide to reveal a shallow dovetailed drawer and adjustable shelf. The two center doors slide to reveal one long adjustable shelf.

Excellent vintage condition with age-appropriate signs of use: The top has a light stain and light rings; there are a couple of very small chips on the bottom edge and a few dings here and there. The long central shelf is slightly bowed in the middle from storing heavy objects over the year.

77.25" W x 17.375" D x 31" H
clearance below: 11.25" - 11.75"
