Walnut and Brass Media Credenza and Shelving Unit Modular Pair - SOLD

May 13, 2016

This is a beautiful and highly functional piece of furniture designed by Mark J. Furst and Robert Fellner and crafted by Furnette in the Bronx, N.Y. in the late 1950s. Very solidly built with beautiful walnut veneers and brass accents in the manner of Paul McCobb and American of Martinsville's Dania collection.

Center tambour doors open to reveal a pull-our shelf for your turntable and an adjustable shelf. There are two original slots in the back to route electrical cords. On the left is an adjustable shelf and record storage, on the right another adjustable shelf (with a hole drilled by previous owner for electrical cords.)

On top sits a highly functional shelving unit. It can be positioned anywhere on the top and has two fixed and two adjustable shelves and a sliding door bar cabinet. Each shelf has a routed groove for plate or frame display.

This gorgeous piece is in excellent vintage condition with age appropriate minor signs of wear. Their is some tarnishing to the brass caps on the legs and some light finish wear on the door pulls. There is some light staining to the interior, and the shelving unit has a stain on the very top (not noticeable when in use.) The credenza top has a slightly lighter area where the shelving unit was sitting and blocking sunlight for years, a few light scratches and light rings. Overall it looks wonderful!

Credenza: 72" wide x 18" deep x 33" high
With top shelving section: 75" high
Top shelving piece: 42" h x 48" w x 12" d

Fabulous Mid-Century Stereo Cabinet / Console / Credenza - SOLD

March 23, 2016

On sale, making room for new inventory! This is a beautiful American walnut stereo credenza made by Clairtone in Canada. It was purchased in the 1960s in New York by the original owner, an ad man in Manhattan (think "Mad Men"!) It was kept extremely carefully, and is terrific condition. The original labels and manuals are all included.

63" wide x 19" deep x 28" high. Beautifully grained, glowing walnut. On the left is a turntable compartment housing the original Garrard AT-6 Mark II turntable (made in England). On the right is the tuner compartment. In the middle, behind two sliding doors and lined with black leatherette, is a cabinet for vinyl record storage.

The speakers work, turntable looks like it's in good condition but does not turn, and the Clairtone tuner powers up but the tuner does not seem to work. There are accessory RCA plugs on the back for tape player and tape monitor. There is a cool little light on the bottom right corner of the case that illuminates when the unit is turned on! You could use the original components or replace with your own... or just use it as a great mid-century credenza!

Danish Walnut Stereo Cabinet / Credenza / Record Storage - Silkeborg Møbelfabrik - SOLD

January 11, 2016

Fantastic piece of mid-century Danish furniture built to house your stereo components and vinyl! Made by Silkeborg Møbelfabrik. Beautifully figured walnut with a contrasting birch interior. The top is split: the left side is stationary and the right lifts up to reveal turntable storage. On the front, the upper left panel hinges down for access to tuners and components. (There are plenty of holes in the back provided for various cords and cables.) Below are two sliding doors revealing sectioned LP storage. Marked "Made in Denmark".

41.5" wide x 19.75" deep x 30.25" high. This piece is in excellent vintage condition with the exception of a dark rectangle on the top left: something -perhaps a turntable or TV- lived there for many years and the rest of the piece lightened from sunlight exposure except what was covered there. Priced accordingly.
