This is a beautiful and highly functional piece of furniture designed by Mark J. Furst and Robert Fellner and crafted by Furnette in the Bronx, N.Y. in the late 1950s. Very solidly built with beautiful walnut veneers and brass accents in the manner of Paul McCobb and American of Martinsville's Dania collection.
Center tambour doors open to reveal a pull-our shelf for your turntable and an adjustable shelf. There are two original slots in the back to route electrical cords. On the left is an adjustable shelf and record storage, on the right another adjustable shelf (with a hole drilled by previous owner for electrical cords.)
On top sits a highly functional shelving unit. It can be positioned anywhere on the top and has two fixed and two adjustable shelves and a sliding door bar cabinet. Each shelf has a routed groove for plate or frame display.
This gorgeous piece is in excellent vintage condition with age appropriate minor signs of wear. Their is some tarnishing to the brass caps on the legs and some light finish wear on the door pulls. There is some light staining to the interior, and the shelving unit has a stain on the very top (not noticeable when in use.) The credenza top has a slightly lighter area where the shelving unit was sitting and blocking sunlight for years, a few light scratches and light rings. Overall it looks wonderful!
