Danish architects Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen designed a beautiful collection of mix-and-match teak cases for the renowned cabinetmaker Søborg Møbelfabrik in the 1950s. We are very pleased to offer three pieces from the collection. All of the cases are crafted of solid teak planks (unlike most Danish case goods) in order to create the gorgeous finger-jointed joinery at each corner.
This cabinet features hideaway tambour doors with hand-carved pulls. Inside are 2 adjustable shelves. It has the wonderful patina of decades old, well-cared-for teak. It retains the brass badge from Illums Bolighus, the high-end Copenhagen shop it was purchased from. It is in very good vintage condition with some scratches to the top, a slight abrasion to the lower right edge of the case, and a few dings on the bottom edge. Please see photos.
