A rare design by Danish master Johannes Andersen for Uldum Møbelfabrik. Andersen is known for his beautifully sculptural table and chair designs, often utilizing the signature leg joinery detail seen here. This particular piece is unusual and more finely detailed that we usually see. That substantial edge, with the curved inset reveal, is crafted of beefy pieces of solid teak! Also unusual: the leaves are a butterfly design that store within “trays” on each end, and open up on brass hardware to lengthen the table on either, or both, ends.
This table is in excellent refinished condition. One leaf has an old filled chip as shown. The table top has very light scratches and faint rings.
