A gorgeous set of midcentury walnut dining chairs designed by American master Paul McCobb as part of the ‘Irwin Collection’ for Calvin Furniture, c. 1960. These chairs are wonderful in person, with their elegant and stylish bowtie backs and beautifully angled back legs.
The walnut frames are in excellent vintage condition with mild, age-appropriate signs of wear. These beauties have been professionally re-upholstered with new foam and a gorgeous nubby wool bouclé: Outback Wool by Maharam Kvadrat. Outback is a luxurious and tactile bouclé upholstery fabric designed by Giulio Ridolfo. The textile features numerous tones in each colorway, which creates subtle color combinations that play across its textured surface. The variation also makes this upholstery quite forgiving for a family with small kids! The fabric is made from a soft and hardwearing blend of wool. Mélange bouclé yarns are used in both warp and weft, which gives the textile body and warmth, while making it very comfortable.
