Broyhill's Brasilia Collection is so iconic and beautiful - and this rare Room Divider is the signature piece of the line! It appears on the cover of the original showroom color brochure and incorporates the style of Brasilia better than any other piece.
The design team was inspired by the utopian buildings in the capital of Brazil, designed by famed architect Oscar Niemeyer. Broyhill's designers worked for two years with Oscar Niemeyer and presented the copyrighted collection in 1962 with his approval. The signature swooping details echo the lines of Niemeyer's iconic Palacio de Alvorada in Brasilia.
This piece is finished on all sides, so it can be placed anywhere in the room and enjoyed from all sides. The base has 3 slide-out drawers on the left and a cabinet with shelf on the right. The top has three fixed shelves for display. This piece is in very good vintage condition with age-appropriate signs of use, finish wear to the legs/base, and one filled chip in a cabinet door.
