This is a very high quality, early rosewood piece by Hundevad & Co., Ulfborg, Denmark. This is a 2-piece set, with a credenza base featuring a gorgeous contrasting birch interior behind two brass-hinged doors, three adjustable sliding drawers and two adjustable shelves. It sits atop the signature Hundevad beveled stretcher base and original tapered legs. This top has adjustable book shelves and a full-width drop-down desk with more adjustable shelving inside. Use it as a desk, a bar or buffet, or for your stereo equipment. It is a very handsome and superbly functional piece.
The rosewood has a beautiful grain and oiled finish. it has lightened where exposed to sunlight over the years, and is now a mellow color similar in tone to aged Danish teak. This piece is in very good vintage condition with wear commensurate with age and use. There are scratches to the small area of exposed credenza top and two fleabite chips to the bottom outer edge. One shelf has a slight split on the bottom edge where it slides over the hidden shelf bracket, but it's not noticeable when the shelf is installed. The right side of the credenza has a hole drilled in the back to accommodate electrical cords into the cabinet. See photos.
