While many furnituremakers in Denmark made their own versions of Borge Mogensen-designed sofas, Stouby is considered second only to Fredericia, who produced the actual designs. This piece is Stouby's version of Børge Mogensen's No. 2213, which he designed originally for use in his own home.
Danish sofas are lower and smaller scale than typical American sofas... really nicely proportioned. This piece is priced much lower than most Stouby sofas because the leather is more worn than usual, especially on the sets and arm rests. Please see the photos. It is nevertheless a very handsome sofa, and SO comfortable!
