We are very pleased to offer this rare find: a stunning pair of solid teak lounge chairs designed by Grete Jalk, produced by France & Son in the 1960s and imported by high-end retailer John Stuart. These chairs are absolutely beautiful from any angle and extremely comfortable.
Solid teak frames have been thoroughly cleaned and re-oiled. Original innerspring cushions have been re-foamed and reupholstered in fabulous Maharam Kvadrat Hallingdal wool/rayon (in an original colorway) designed in 1965 by famous Danish designer Nanna Ditzel. More on this iconic textile here.
Fully signed: France & Son button with serial number; John Stuart button: each teak side rail stamped in gold with France & Son's "FF Made in Denmark".
In excellent vintage condition. To note: back leg of one chair has a chip at the bottom. Backrest of one chair has small chip. One chair has small gouges inside arm rest. See photos. Otherwise, age-appropriate wear such as light scratches and light paint scrapes.
