Acclaimed Danish designer Børge Mogensen wanted to create the best storage systems for Scandinavian families. He did studies to determine the standard measures for common objects, such as cutlery and shirts, and how many of each item the average person owned. With this information he developed a set of figures for the base width and depth of drawers and shelves, and his information tables were published as a manual on building storage systems. Between 1955 and 1968 he worked with Karl Andersson & Söner, designing the company’s first modern furniture series, 'Øresund' in 1955.
This fabulous sliding door cabinet features high quality construction (notice the oak door tracks: no plastic here!) and wonderful, unusual, patterned amber glass inserts.
In excellent vintage condition with only the most minor signs of wear. There is a tiny dent in the front edge that we could not get to show in photos. This series was available with a variety of bases. We have re-created the original legs for this piece.
