A stunning pair of rosewood and mahogany 2- drawer chests by Edward Wormley for Dunbar. Dark mahogany cases with rosewood (cerro) drawer fronts, solid brass and mahogany bar pulls, dovetail constructed drawers, beautiful wood grain, and clean modernist lines. Original Dunbar labels in the top drawers. Bottom drawers with removable dividers.
These would be lovely as nightstands or side tables. They have a wonderful presence in any room!
In very good vintage condition. We did not polish the solid brass trim on handles and base, but could easily be polished bright.
Chest #1- dent on top right front corner, top drawer has staining inside, tiny bit of light wear along back top edge, very light dings along front edge, small dent and small chip on top. The mahogany cylinder on one of the pulls on the bottom drawer was split and repaired at some point. See photos.
Chest #2- small dent front edge, small white mark on top, tiny chip right edge, bottom drawer has 2 small chips on edge, a few gouges on top. See photos.
Paper label: "#2274B Chest; Cerro Wood Drawer Fronts #74 Dark Mahogany on balance. On 10" legs- base, vertical pulls."
