Sculptural Danish Teak Dining Table w/Leaves by Gudme - SOLD

August 19, 2017

This gorgeous expandable dining table is usually attributed to Niels O. Moller, but we have not confirmed the designer. Either way, it is a beautifully designed and expertly made table. It features beautifully grained teak veneers that match across the tabletop and both of the leaves. The leaves store within the table when not in use. The elegantly carved double-pedestal base allow easy chair placement, since there are no legs at the edges to get in the way.

This table is in excellent vintage condition with with only very minor surface scratches and some dings along one edge from being stored on end. As is typical with vintage tables, the two leaves are a slightly different color because they have not been exposed to sunlight as much as the tabletop. The leaves have a couple of minor chips along the edges.

63.675" long x 41.5" deep x 28.675" high
With one leaf: 82.875" long; seats 8-10

A sweet vintage Danish teak refectory table made by Ansager Mobler. In typical ingenious Danish fashion, the leaves are self-storing, so you never have to worry about them getting lost or damaged. You can pull out one or both leaves to extend the table as needed: it is a very practical and dynamic mid-century design. Beautiful wood grain and patina.

Seats 4-6 unextended and up to 10 with both leaves out! This table is in very good vintage condition. The top has two very light rings and some light scratches. The edges and legs have typical light dings. Please see photos.

Chairs are not included but are available separately.

53.25" x 35.5" x 29" high
With both leaves extended 95.675"

1960s Søborg Møbelfabrik Draw-Leaf Dining Table - SOLD

June 7, 2017

This is a very unusual Danish table by Søborg Møbelfabrik. We believe it was designed by Borge Mogensen, and features his signature European oak legs and trim with contrasting walnut table surfaces and apron. Self-storing leaves extend the table to seat a crowd!

This table was refinished by the previous owner, who was a little bit overly vigorous with the sandpaper. There are a couple of areas of sanded-through veneer as shown, a blemish in the tabletop, and some scratches as pictured. The leaves are lighter in color than the tabletop. This would be a >$1,800 table in perfect condition, so this is a great chance to own a unique, rare Danish design for much less.

33.5" x 49.25" x 29.675" high
fully extended: 88.675" long
