Described as some of the most comfortable dining chairs ever made, these solid teak and "skai" (leatherette) chairs by Erik Buck for O.D. Møbler (Oddense Maskinsnedkeri) are becoming one of the most desirable designs for collectors of mid-century Danish furniture. Model 49, designed in 1949. They feature Buck's wonderful "floating" seat, lovely joinery and great attention to detail. and did we mention how comfortable they are???
This model chair was produced for decades. These are earlier examples, likely from the 1950s or early 1960s. This set includes 5 side chairs and one captain's chair.
The set is in very good vintage condition, with beautiful patina to the teak. There are a few very tiny latex paint flecks on the seats. One chair has a small repair in the upholstery on the seat, and another has a tiny slit on the edge. See photos.
