Very finely crafted 2-sided teak desk by AP Møbler, Svenstrup J(utland), Denmark. Cabinetmaker Anker Petersen, founder of AP Stolen, also made the early Papa Bear chairs and other early Hans Wegner furniture. This desk is in very fine company!
On the "work" side, the desk features 6 drawers with wide carved pulls. On the opposite side, meant to face into the room, are bookshelf or display cubbies and a drop-down storage area. Notice the elegant details including a beveled top edge and inset band between the top and case and the glowing, beautifully aged teak wood.
This piece is overall in good vintage condition and presents very well. Small items to note: a few gouges on the edges of some drawer pulls and knee space. A few scratches to the top and a small area of decades-old repaired veneer. Some areas of discoloration that may be cigarette burns. Burn mark on edge of storage cubby on front.
