This is a handsome mid-century modern walnut credenza, buffet, or media console made in the early 1960s by Stanley Furniture for their 'American Forum' collection. It is finished on the back to allow for use anywhere in the room.
The cabinet features two large storage areas, one open and one with adjustable shelving. We've added updated walnut & solid cast brass door pulls to replace the damaged originals. The central bank of three drawers offer tons of storage. The top divided drawer retains the original (removable) felt silverware storage piece. The sculpted base adds levity to this significant piece. Overall this piece is very well crafted and finished on all sides allow for use as a divider between open spaces in a large room.
(Also available with hutch top; see our other listings.)
In very good vintage condition. the top has some scratches where the upper hutch stood, and a few dings as shown. There is a small chip in the top right corner. The left-hand door has a small sliver of veneer missing along the hinge edge and a scratch below the handle.
