Kai Kristiansen Teak Sideboard / Credenza - SOLD

September 8, 2015

This lovely sideboard, attributed to prolific Danish designer Kai Kristiansen, provides a ton of storage! It has a rich, dark patina and beautiful details including a sculpted, beveled top, contrasting birch interior, tapered legs, and a beautifully contrasting darker wood for the pulls and drawer framing. This design was not exported to the US: it was made for the domestic Danish market and just came over from Denmark this summer.

It is in very good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. There are some tony paint flecks on the top (barely noticeable), slight separation of trim joints (not recent; very stable), a small veneer chip on right door bottom and tiny one on right drawer. Overall this piece presents very well!

Fantastic Extra-Large, Tall Sideboard / Credenza / Bar, Denmark 1960s - SOLD

September 8, 2015

This is such a wonderful and unique piece of furniture! While somewhat common in Denmark in the 1960s, credenzas like this were seldom exported to the US. This one came over just this summer from Denmark and we were lucky to snap it up. It has a fabulous presence in the room, with its beautiful patina and grain.

Three sliding doors conceal adjustable shelving on two sides, and a center bank of pull-out drawers and a bar area with a curved half-shelf. Below are three drawers. Check out the rounded face frame and beautiful stretcher/leg details!

This unique piece is in good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. We also noticed the following: one bottom drawer sticks a bit and has a chipped handle pull. There is veneer damage BEHIND the lower drawers (only noticeable when the drawers are removed.) There is a scratch on top and a dent in the front top face (both pictured.)

Petite Danish Teak Credenza or Storage by Hundevad & Co. - SOLD

September 8, 2015

This is a wonderfully sized small sideboard, credenza, or storage cabinet made in Denmark in the 1960s by Hundevad & Co. It has beautiful elongated pulls and a nice rich patina. There are 2 sliding doors concealing 3 adjustable shelves in the contrasting birch interior. This is an unusual piece to find in the U.S. since they were not imported here : it just came over from Denmark this summer!

This sweet storage piece is in good vintage condition with wear consistent with age & use. There is one tiny fleabite veneer chip on the top edge, a bit of white latex paint spatter on the side, and sun-fading on the top edges where a hutch stood for years (this should even out over time.) There is also discoloration of the birch interior from bar items being stored for decades: we think this adds kind of a cool sense of history as well as graphic appeal!

1960s Danish Teak Petite Credenza - SOLD

September 8, 2015

This is a wonderfully sized small sideboard, credenza, or storage cabinet made in Denmark in the 1960s. It has a wonderful beveled edge detail, 8 interior drawers, tapered legs and a contrasting birch interior. Overall this is a great, stylish solution to storage needs, and very unusual to find in the U.S. This piece was just brought over from Denmark this summer!

If you'd like to store deeper items (e.g barware and glasses) you can simply remove some of the drawers to increase height.

Condition: this piece is in good vintage condition with age-appropriate signs of wear and use (a few light rings and areas of discoloration to the top, some gouges to the bottom edge and a scrape on the top right of the case) and the following: We believe this piece may originally been part of a modular wall unit. There are two small, filled holes on the right side and slight discoloration from being attached to something else.  Several of the drawers have ink/stamp marks from the previous owner, who appears to have been a dressmaker in Denmark.

Outstanding Teak Credenza or Sideboard by Ib Kofod Larsen - SOLD

September 4, 2015

Early Mid Century Modern vintage Danish teak sideboard by revered Danish designer, Ib Kofod-Larsen. High quality Scandinavian craftsmanship is evident in the joinery of the legs to the body of the unit. Notice the detail in how the legs are overlap the bottom span of the cabinet unit. Larsen’s signature minimalist circle pulls allow just enough for the finger to effortlessly maneuver the sliding doors — so as not to obstruct from the clean, mimimalist aesthetic.

This piece has excellent proportions; long and low and definitely shallower than most similar pieces at just 16.5" deep. The grains on the sliding doors are beautifully matched. There is a gorgeous deep patina on the this likely late 1950s or early 1960s piece.

Three sliding doors. Shelves on either end, and felt-lined drawers behind the center door. This gorgeous credenza is in good vintage condition with age-appropriate signs of use and the following of note (see detail photos): an old chip on the right-hand door pull; a few scratches on tip; three old rings on top; old chips on the left edge and on the top edge.

67" x 16.5" x 29.75" high.
