Early Mid Century Modern vintage Danish teak sideboard by revered Danish designer, Ib Kofod-Larsen. High quality Scandinavian craftsmanship is evident in the joinery of the legs to the body of the unit. Notice the detail in how the legs are overlap the bottom span of the cabinet unit. Larsen’s signature minimalist circle pulls allow just enough for the finger to effortlessly maneuver the sliding doors — so as not to obstruct from the clean, mimimalist aesthetic.
This piece has excellent proportions; long and low and definitely shallower than most similar pieces at just 16.5" deep. The grains on the sliding doors are beautifully matched. There is a gorgeous deep patina on the this likely late 1950s or early 1960s piece.
Three sliding doors. Shelves on either end, and felt-lined drawers behind the center door. This gorgeous credenza is in good vintage condition with age-appropriate signs of use and the following of note (see detail photos): an old chip on the right-hand door pull; a few scratches on tip; three old rings on top; old chips on the left edge and on the top edge.
67" x 16.5" x 29.75" high.
