Broyhill's Brasilia Collection is so iconic and beautiful! The design team was inspired by the utopian buildings in the capital of Brazil, designed by famed architect Oscar Niemeyer. Broyhill's designers worked for two years with Oscar Niemeyer and presented the copyrighted collection in 1962 with his approval.
The signature swooping cast drawer handles and remarkable bentwood door handles echo the lines of Niemeyer's iconic Palacio de Alvorada in Brasilia. This is some very cool furniture!
This is a rare low buffet and lighted china cabinet hutch. The hutch includes glass shelves with plate grooves on back edge. The low credenza has three doors: the right two doors reveal a drawer; a shelf spans the width of the entire interior. The drawer includes the original, removable anti-tarnish silverware storage unit marked with the Broyhill Premiere logo!
This piece is in very good vintage condition with wear commensurate with age and including: Chip on bottom corner of hutch; small chips on back corners of hutch; and many scratches to the credenza surface, most of which are covered by the china cabinet when in place. Please see photos.
