This is a gorgeous piece of Dutch mid-century design, very rare to find in the United States. It is a modular wall unit system, like the Danish Cado system: one could mix-and-match and add on with more supports, shelves, and cabinets. Made in the Netherlands in the 1950s.
This set consists of two ebonized wood uprights, five fully adjustable shelves, and solid brass hardware. The uprights feature wonderful legs, adjustable levelers on the back leg, and are meant to be secured to the wall at the top. The glowing teak shelves contrast beautifully with the ebonized supports and glowing brass. They can be adjusted to any spacing you require by sliding the solid brass hardware up and down the tracks in the uprights. It's a gorgeous and highly functional design!
In very good vintage condition. One shelf has a small chip on the back edge. The ebonized supports have some light finish wear.
