Early 1960s Mid-Century Danish Chairs- Set/6 - SOLD

September 12, 2015

This is a set of 6 very nicely made Mid-Century chairs in the style of Finn Juhl. They were just brought over from Denmark this summer. They have nicely tapered legs and sculptural frames, and are sturdy and comfortable.

The solid walnut frames are in very good vintage condition with only minor expected signs of age. The "skai" upholstery (naugahyde) is in good condition with a few tiny pinholes and small repairs to the upholstery. Please see the photos. Overall they are a beautiful set in very good vintage condition, and far, far nicer than any new chairs you could buy for this price!

19.25"w x 20.5"d x 33.25"h; seat height ~18"

Danish Walnut Chairs, Set/7 - SOLD

September 8, 2015

This is a very pretty set of 7 1960s Danish dining chairs. Although the seller told us they were designed by Kai Kristiansen, they are unmarked and look more like a Larsen design to us! Either way, they are very handsome.

The set is in overall very good vintage condition, age-appropriate wear. A couple of the chairs have fairly significant wear to the top corners that should be stitched or repaired. It isn't glaringly noticeable due to the nubbly oatmeal weave, and is quite minor on most of the chairs. See the photos for the worst of it! Due to this, we've priced them as a set of 5, and you get 2 chairs free :)

19"w x 18.5" d x 31.25" h
Seat 17.25"

Rare Early Kai Kristiansen Chairs, Set/4 - SOLD

September 8, 2015

This is a very rare set of Kai Kristiansen designed chairs made by Oddense Maskinsnedkeri A.S., Denmark. Elegant, sculptural, light and airy teak chairs upholstered in black.

We have priced this set very low because two of the chairs have been repaired at the back corners. See the photos. This is a chance to own a really stunning set of chairs for far less than they would normally go for, if you don't mind the imperfections. They are otherwise in very good vintage condition, with just one tiny slit to one seat (see photos.)

Stunning, sculptural Niels Otto Møller dining set - SOLD

September 8, 2015

This is a very fine set of exquisitely designed and crafted Danish furniture. Heirloom quality, and breathtaking in person.

Set/4 Niels Møller Model 77 chairs in teak and classic woven Danish cord seats, designed 1959. Arguably the most elegant and sought after of Møller's designs. These chairs are so beautiful in person, handling them is a sensual experience! Three chairs in excellent vintage condition with beautiful patina and minor wear consistent with age; one chair has a few broken strands on the back edge. It is entirely useable as it is but at some point in the future you may want to repair. Signed with the J.L. Møllers badge and Danish Furniture Makers Control.

A very elegant teak table with hidden integral butterfly. The fine, tapered edge lends this table an unusual sense of lightness. Beautiful edge detailing and slightly splayed, finely tapered oval legs. This is a very fine example of Danish design and craftsmanship. It is not one of the commonly seen Møller tables, in fact I have never seen this design in all my years of collecting nor have I seen it in any reference material. it is probably a Svend Madsen design for Møller, although it may be a custom made piece. Either way it is exquisitely made and matches the chairs extremely well, down to the tapered, angled, oval legs. In excellent vintage condition with some slight differences in teak darkening due to having been covered by a tablecloth. Time should even out the tone.

All in all this set has an outstanding presence and will be the star of any room.
Dimensions of the table:
63” x 36.25” (92.5” with the leaf.)
Chairs:
30" h x 19.5" x 19". Seat height ~17.5"

Set/4 Erik Buck Mid-Century Danish Teak Chairs - SOLD

September 2, 2015

Two #50 arm chairs and two #49 side chairs.

Four iconic floating-seat Danish chairs designed by Erik Buck and made by O.D. Møbler in Denmark in the 1960s. These chairs are quickly becoming a classic because of their simple form, comfortable seating experience and strong well built frames with a floating seat design. They usually sell for more than twice this price, but since they are not in perfect condition I have priced them accordingly.

Danish Teak Chair by Poul Volther for Frem Røjle - SOLD

This chair is in excellent vintage condition. The only thing to note is some light water marks to the edges of the woven cord seat (see photo.) This example does not have teak plugs covering the fasteners, so the chair can be disassembled for more affordable shipping.
