Magnificent Børge Mogensen Teak and Oak Desk - $2,250

January 21, 2021

This is such a wonderful piece! A large two-sided desk designed in the 1950s by Børge Mogensen and produced in Denmark by Søborg Møbelfabrik. Like many of Mogensen’s designs, this piece is crafted of rich teak and European white oak. The contrast between the two is subtle and beautiful.

This is a rare piece, and the only one we’ve seen in years of collecting. It is a more finely detailed version of Mogensen’s classic teak & oak model 130. This desk is extremely well-made. The desk has three dovetailed drawers on either side of the knee and a bookcase/display area on the reverse. Its medium size would work well in a home office!

In excellent vintage condition with minor age-appropriate wear. One corner has a dent as shown. There are a few tiny dents in the front edge, and a filled knot hole that is original from the time of construction.

61 1/2” x 30 3/8” x 29 1/4”
Knee space 20 1/8” wide and 25 1/4” high

Danish Teak Floating Top Executive Desk by Gasvig - SOLD

September 21, 2020

SOLD- This fabulous Danish executive desk offers a large work surface, ample storage, and eye-catching style with it’s “floating top and exterior legs. By G. V. Gasvig, Denmark, circa 1960. Rare in vintage desks, this piece offers an unusually wide kneehole!

Left of the kneehole are three deep drawers and the right section is a file drawer with adjustable file hangers (I believe for US or European sizes.) Finished on all sides, this piece can be floated in the middle of any room. It also features a recessed area on the opposite side, so that another chair can be pulled up for collaborative work.

We have priced this desk at significantly less that normal because it has a chipped handle on the file drawer, as shown. There are a few scratches and slightly lighter areas on the top, and some dings on the edges. It has a wonderful patina and is still an extremely handsome piece of furniture!

59” w x 29 1/2” d x 28” h.
Knee space 27” wide.
